In general :
Depending on the type of fertiliser involved, fertilisers contain one (simple fertilisers) or several (compound fertilisers) nutrients. The principal nutritional elements in fertilisers are described as follows :
- Principal element Nitrogen (N) : boosts cell division (growth)
- Principal element Phosphorus (P) : fosters root building
- Principal element Potassium (K) : strengthens solidity, head and fruit formation
- Principal element Magnesium (Mg) : the main component of leaf green or chlorophyll, ensuring the green colour of leaves and stems
- Trace elements Iron, Boron, Manganese (Fe,B,Mn) : help prevent deficiency diseases

Organic fertilisers >>
A fertiliser type made up of wholly natural components of vegetable and/or animal origin such as : feather meal, seaweeds, blood meal, beet wine, bone meal, ... All products in this fertiliser group are composed strictly of natural components, containing no chemical additives whatsoever.
Organic fertilisers offer a versatile scope of applications, have a well-balanced composition and offer a mild and long-lasting effect.
Delivered into the soil, with the assistance of biological activity (bacteria), organic fertilisers are converted into nutrients (ions) available to plant roots/plants.
This process, which takes around 2-5 weeks, is not only safe for plants, it also serves to reduce the risk of roots/plant fibres scorching to the bare minimum.

Organo-mineral fertilisers
This fertiliser group is made up of natural components, enriched and complemented with chemical elements for fast action.
This type of fertiliser contains at least 25 % in organic matter with 40 % of its nitrogen content required to be of organic origin. The organic substances in this group serve as an added enrichment for the humus in the soil.
